Police appeal after store is robbed at knifepoint

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a store on Windlestone Road in Billingham on Tuesday morning.

The incident took place at Toni Off-Licence and Convenience Store at around 6.50am. The suspect said that he was in possession of a knife and demanded cash from the till. He made off with around £150. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, around 5ft 8”- 5ft 10” tall with a large nose. He was wearing thick square-framed dark glasses and a striped scarf which was red along with other colours. He was also wearing a black hooded top, black jogging bottoms and black footwear.
