Police appeal after two teenagers sexually assaulted on Seaton Carew beach

POLICE have appealed for information after two 18-year-old women were sexually assaulted on a beach in Hartlepool.

The two women were walking on the beach at Seaton Carew close to the sand dunes at around 10.30pm on Tuesday, July 9, when they were approached by two men who tried to talk to them.

Officers investigating the assault say that during this encounter the women were sexually assaulted by the two men before they were able to run off and alert police.

It is thought the men were part of a group of five that were having a BBQ on the beach.

The first suspect is described as male, between 20 and 30, 6ft 1in-tall, with shoulder length dark hair, a beard or facial hair and of Asian appearance.

He was wearing red shorts, a black T-shirt with a yellow logo on the breast and a red baseball cap.

The second is described as male, in his 20s, around 5ft 7in-tall, of chubby build, with a skinhead and of Asian appearance.

He was wearing burgundy shorts and no top.

Anyone with information, who witnessed anything or who may know who these men are asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.
