POLICE are trying to trace a woman who dropped an eight-year-old boy back at home after he was struck by her car.
The youngster needed checking over at hospital after being hit by the vehicle at the corner of Bute Avenue and Caledonian Road, in Hartlepool.
The driver had stopped at the scene and took him back to his house, but did not leave any contact details.
Police want to speak to the motorist about the incident at around 8.10pm on Saturday, August 13, and are asking for her to get in touch.
They also want to hear from any witnesses to the collision.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “The driver stopped at the scene of the collision and took the injured boy back to his home, but failed to leave her details.
“The victim was taken to University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, with minor injuries to his arms and legs. The driver is believed to be in her 40s and was driving a dark blue Rover or Peugeot.
“Police would also like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any further information.”
