Police called to Hartlepool pub after ‘large scale’ pub brawl erupts

POLICE were called to a “large scale” pub brawl in Hartlepool.

About six police vehicles rushed to The Travellers Rest pub, in Stockton Road when a fight broke out between revellers at a party that was being held.

Officers arrived and several pub-goers were removed from the establishment.

The incident happened at around 8.30pm on Friday, November 29.

A spokesman for Cleveland Police said: “There was a large scale fight at the pub so we sent several units out to clear the perpetrators.

“There was some sort of party going on and there was quite a lot of people there so we had to send a number of officers out to make sure evertything was ok.

“When we got there the fight had stopped and we liaised with the landlord and requested that people be cleared away.”

No arrests were made and details of what sparked the fight are not known.
