Police had to be called to a Hartlepool primary school after several parents got involved in an altercation after lessons finished.
A man who did not wish to be named said police officers were called a fight broke out between two mothers at Lynnfield Primary School on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers were called to the school, in the town’s Grosvenor Street, after an incident began at shortly after 3pm.
School chiefs called police over the altercation.
The school’s headteacher Marian Fairley said: “There was an altercation involving several parents at around 3.10pm on Tuesday, July 14, and as a result we called police who subsequently dealt with the matter.”
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman confirmed that officers were called to the incident.
She said: “Police were called to Lynnfield Primary School at around 3.15pm, to reports of an altercation.
“On officers’ arrival the incident was not ongoing and no offences were reported to police, therefore there will be no further action.”
