Police confirm man found bleeding outside Hartlepool shops was stabbed

POLICE have confirmed a man rushed to hospital with injuries after an incident at a shopping parade was stabbed.

Emergency services were called to Wynyard Road, in Hartlepool, after paramedics alerted them to the man’s injuries.

The man was rushed to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, with injuries that were described at not life-threatening, where he remains.

The incident happened around 7pm on Sunday and the row of shops in Wynyard Road was sealed off by police.

Two women, aged 17 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent in connection with the incident have now been bailed pending further inquiries.

Inquiries are continuing into the alleged attack and any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
