A TEENAGER has been remanded in custody after admitting threatening someone with a large kitchen knife in a drinking hotspot.

Police had to point a taser at Billy Crooks, 18, during trouble in Church Street, Hartlepool, around 2am on Saturday.

The Church Street resident appeared before town magistrates yesterday and admitted threatening a person with a bladed or pointed article in a public place.

He will be sentenced at Teesside Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

The taser was not fired.
