A man who threatened and pushed a member of staff at a Hartlepool shop is being hunted by police.

Cleveland Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to after the incident at the Cascade Premier Store, on Andrews Street, last Thursday.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police are asking for help in tracing this man who entered the Cascade Premier Store on Andrews Street in Hartlepool at 9.20pm on Thursday, June 1 demanding cash from the till.

"He threatened and pushed a member of staff demanding the till be opened.

"When staff refused he took a bottle from inside and chased a member of staff out of the store. He then attempted to search for the keys to the till.

"Unsuccessful, he left the store and handed the bottle to a member of the public outside who was standing with staff.

"Anyone with information on the identity of the man is asked to contact DC Julie Spring at Cleveland Police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
