POLICE are continuing to investigate the death of a three-month-old baby who was found dead at a house.
Officers launched the inquiry into the unexplained death of the baby girl who was discovered inside the property in Blackhall Colliery.
Emergency services were called to the house at 5.20am on Friday, June 27, where paramedics found the baby that was not breathing and had no heart beat.
The youngster was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton.
Detectives and scenes of crime officers were sent into the property to carry out investigations after the discovery, and a post mortem examination is to be carried out on the little girl’s body to try to establish a cause of death.
A Durham police spokeswoman said: “Officers are continuing to investigate.”
