Police release E-fit of man after attempted robbery in Hartlepool

POLICE have released an E-fit of a man that they want to speak to after an attempted robbery in Hartlepool.

The incident took place at around 1.30pm on Wednesday, August 20, when a 48-year-old woman was approached by a man in an alleyway between Durness Grove and Brierton Lane. The man approached the woman and tried to take her handbag.

After a short struggle, the suspect made off empty handed leaving the victim left shaken but uninjured.

The suspect is described as a white male, around 5ft 8ins-5ft 9ins tall, aged in his late 20s to early 30s with short, dark hair and blue eyes.

He was wearing a grey bomber style jacket and black tracksuit bottoms.
