Police uncover haul of suspected stolen goods in Hartlepool

POLICE have uncovered a haul of suspected stolen property and arrested three men on suspicion of theft.

Detectives are now trying to trace the owners of satellite navigation systems, an MP3 player, two scooters, a fishing rod, a silver pocket watch, a first aid kit, binoculars and various other items.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Police are appealing to trace the owners of items recovered following three arrests in the Fens area of Hartlepool.”

Officers had been called to a report of three men acting suspiciously at around 6.15am on the morning of Thursday, September 19, in the Newark Road area.

Three men, aged 16, 17 and 21, from the Billingham area, were arrested on suspicion of theft and were bailed pending further enquiries.
