Reveller taken to hospital after gang attack

A REVELLER was left needing hospital treatment following a gang attack.

The 22-year-old man was assaulted outside of Idols, in Church Street, Hartlepool, and suffered head and facial injuries.

Police say his injuries were not believed to have been serious although the pub-goer was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton for checks.

The attack involved a number of men and continued onto Station Approach on Saturday, February 9, at about 2.20pm.

Officers have arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of assault and he has been bailed pending further inquiries.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “The incident allegedly involved a number of men and a 22-year-old man suffered head and facial injuries. He was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees for treatment.”
