Robbery victim’s terrifying glass threat in Hartlepool street

A WOMAN had her mobile phone stolen after she was threatened by a man holding a piece of glass.

Police are appealing for information following the robbery which happened on Park Road, Hartlepool, at around 3.45am on Saturday, August 16.

Police say the 20-year-old woman noticed a man on a pedal bike on York Road and continued walking and turned into Park Road.

She was approached by same man on the bike as she made her way to Richard Court.

He produced a piece of glass and asked the victim for her mobile phone and money.

The man made off on his bike in the direction of Elwick Road with the victim’s phone.

He is described as white, around 19-years-old, with a chubby face, short hair, bad complexion, light coloured eyes and pale skin.

He was riding a black BMX bike and wearing a grey coloured tracksuit.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information is asked to contact Detective Constable David Walker on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
