A BURGLARY suspect who was involved in a five-hour stand off with police after climbing onto a roof has been charged.
The 22-year-old involved in the drama in Cameron Road, off Raby Road, in Hartlepool, was expected to appear before Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court today.
He faces charges of burglary, three counts of criminal damage and a public order offence.
Fire and ambulance services were also called to the scene after police received reports of a burglary at around 7.20pm on Wednesday.
Their were concerns about the suspect’s safety after he climbed up onto a building in the pouring rain.
A cordon was put in Cameron Road and Belk Street before he came down at 12.30am and was arrested.
