Schoolboy robbed in street by teenager

Police are appealing for information after a 14-year-old boy was robbed in High Grange Park in Billingham.

The incident occurred on Tuesday July 5 when the boy was approached by a young male who asked him for a light.

The male then took the bike belonging to the victim from nearby railings and tried to make off with it.

The victim took hold of his bike and the male pulled it from him and rode off in the direction of the shops in the High Grange area of Billingham.

The suspect is described as a white male, around 12-14-years-old, between 5 foot 8” and 5 foot 10” tall with short brown hair brushed to one side and several spots on his face. He was wearing a grey jacket, trousers and grey trainers and he was carrying a Samsung phone.

The stolen bike is a CUBE Aim hard tail mountain bike in a black and matt grey colour. The handle bars are scuffed and the rear tyre is worn.
