A RESIDENTS’ group has branded thieves as “scum” after more than £3,000-worth of furniture was stolen in a raid on a lock-up.
Manor Residents’ Association has been working to provide accommodation for young people over the last few months by renovating flats in Glamis Walk.
Six of the eight fully-furnished flats are now occupied by young people taking their first step onto the housing ladder, but furniture earmarked for the step onto the housing ladder, but furniture earmarked for the remaining two properties was stolen in a break-in last week.
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Marie Appleby, of Hartlepool Police, on (01642) 302178 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Anyone who can help Manor Residents’ Association replace the furniture can contact (01429) 297201.
