A TEENAGER suffered a broken jaw after being hit in the face with a brick as he lay helpless on the ground.
The 18 year-old victim had been walking with his girlfriend behind Mecca Bingo, on Hartlepool Marina, when he was set on by two men.
After being pushed to the ground, he was punched and kicked before being struck in the face with a brick.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “The victim in this case suffered a horrendous ordeal which resulted in him receiving a broken jaw. He had to be admitted to hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.
“We would urge anyone with information regarding the assault to come forward and speak with police.”
The couple had been walking behind the popular venue at 11.30pm on Saturday, May 14, when the attackers struck. Police believe they may have ran off towards the town centre.
One attacker is described as white, aged in his early 20s, with short fair hair and of slim build and a pale complexion.
He is said to be around 5ft 10in to 6ft tall and was wearing a yellow sports jacket with the hood up and trainers.
The other is described as white, aged in his early 20s and around 5ft 10in to 6ft tall. He was wearing a dark coloured sports top with a hood, trainers and tracksuit bottoms.
