THIEVES have gone on a spate of stealing lead flashing from addresses in the East Durham area.

The criminals have struck in parts of Peterlee and Horden. In the latest incident, lead flashing was taken from the bay window of a house in the Yoden Road area of Peterlee.

PC Rob Ramshaw of Peterlee Police is hoping the public will come forward and help to track down the culprits.

He said: “Lead flashing was stolen from a bay window and we are appealing for information. A person was seen one Wednesday of last week.”

PC Ramshaw added: “We have seen an increase in this type of offence and this is an appeal for help to trace the people responsible.”

Anyone who can help track down the culprits should contact PC Rob Ramshaw at Peterlee Police on the non-emergency number 101.
