Drivers are risking serious accidents in a supermarket car park - and will be met with the long arm of the law if they do not stop.
That's the message from Hartlepool Neighbourhood Police Team (NPT), which is asking drivers to stop gathering in a Tesco car park at night.
A spokesman said: "Hartlepool NPT is requesting that the owners of the vehicles who park their cars nightly in the corner of Tesco car park, Burn Road. Stop congregating in this location.
"It has been brought to our attention that some of these vehicles have been witnessed racing round the car park, doing doughnuts and causing all types of vehicle anti-social behaviour.
"This is extremely dangerous and could cause a serious accident. This conduct is not going to be tolerated. Anti Social Behavior patrols are going to be focusing on this area along with the monitoring of CCTV."
Officers are warning they will issue Section 59 orders to anyone carrying out vehicle antisocial behaviour in the car park.
The orders are a power given to police to clamp down on problem drivers in these situations. If two are issued to a driver in the space of 12 months, their vehicles can be seized.
