POLICE have uncovered two cannabis farms worth tens of thousands of pounds.
Officers from Peterlee Neighbourhood Policing Team discovered 64 cannabis plants and growing equipment at a house in Kirkstone Grove, in Peterlee, yesterday morning.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity and has been bailed until the end of May.
Officers from the team also uncovered 45 cannabis plants during a raid on a house in Alexandra Terrace, in Wheatley Hill, on Wednesday.
A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
