A TEENAGER cannabis grower admitted producing the drug when he appeared at court.
Nineteen-year-old Ryan Kelsey, from Hartlepool, pleaded guilty to one count of producing a controlled class B drug.
That related to producing a quantity of cannabis on April 29 of this year.
Kelsey’s barrister Andrew Teate said it marked his client’s first adult conviction.
The court heard the offence warrants a starting sentence of 12 months jail.
Kelsey, of Rugby Street, Hartlepool, was granted unconditional bail until November 19. Judge Peter Bowers said: “You can have bail but no promises.”
