POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old boy was assaulted behind a pub.
The attack happened just before midnight on Saturday night at the rear of the Globe pub, in Northgate, on the Headland, Hartlepool.
The teenager was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, where he was treated for minor injuries including cuts and bruises.
Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident and bailed pending further inquiries.

It comes as police are appealing for witnesses after two men got into a fight in a caravan park on the outskirts of Hartlepool.
Police say the men, who are both in their 30s, started fighting outside a club in Crimdon Caravan Park, at around midnight on Friday evening.
One of the men was taken to the University Hospital of Hartlepool suffering facial injuries.
A man was arrested in connection with the incident and was bailed pending further enquiries.
