Teenager in hospital with head injuries after incident in church car park

POLICE are appealing for information after a teenager suffered head injuries in a church car park.

The incident happened at around 10.30pm on Monday, May 5, at the junction of Dunbar Road and Sidlaw Road, in Billingham.

Police say they are now investigation howw the 18-year-old man suffered the injuries that happened while a black Vauxhall Corsa was being driven around the car park.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “The man was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees before being later transferred to James Cook University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

“Any witnesses who may have seen the vehicle being driven in the car park or anyone with further information is asked to contact PC Neil Bennett from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit”.
