THE anguished family of a man who has been missing for two weeks have made a heartfelt plea for him to get in touch for the sake of his young children.
Scott Fletcher, 27, from Hartlepool has not been seen since Wednesday, May 11.
Scott’s parents Julie, 62, and John, 64, are becoming increasingly worried and have urged Scott to let his four-year-old daughter Lucie and stepson Bradley, seven, know he is safe.
They said: “Scott, we love you and miss you, we just want to know that you are safe.
“Please contact us to let us know that you are all right, the children are missing you.
“Lucie needs to know where her dad is and Bradley is also asking where you are.”
Scott was last seen at around 8.20pm on May 11 in a layby opposite the Jet garage on the A181 at Wheatley Hill in County Durham.
Reports suggest he could have got into a black or dark coloured Renault Clio on a 54 registration plate being driven by a blonde-haired woman.
Police are also becoming increasingly concerned about his whereabouts.
Scott is from the Throston area of Hartlepool, but is known to have connections in the Wheatley Hill, West Rainton and Cumbria areas.
Acting Detective Inspector Alan Todd, of Hartlepool Police, said: “I appeal to Scott directly to make contact with someone to let them know that you are safe and well and to end the anguish that your family are in.
“I would also urge any members of the public who think they may have seen or spoken to Scott to get in touch.
“Our investigations will continue until we know that he is safe and well.”
Scott was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and black jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Acting Det Insp Todd on (01642) 302178.
