Thief was reeled in after theft from Cash Converters in Hartlepool

The following cases were dealt with at Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court.

Michael Boagey, 32, of St Anns Court, was ordered to pay compensation of £9.99 after stealing a fishing reel to the same value from Cash Converters, in Hartlepool, on August 18. He must also pay a criminal courts charge of £150 and prosecution costs of £40.

Andrew Boagey, 39, of Stockton Road, Hartlepool, was given a six-month conditional discharge for failing to give his name when required by a traffic officer at Brenda Road, Hartlepool, on August 22. He must also pay a criminal courts charge of £150, prosecution costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £15.

Matthew Braithwaite-Evans, 23, of Stephen Street, Hartlepool, was ordered to pay compensation of £200 for an offence of criminal damage in Hartlepool on August 24. He must also pay a criminal courts charge of £150.

Joanne Evans, 35, of Dodsworth Walk, Hartlepool, was given a six-month conditional discharge after pursuing acourse of conduct which amounted to harassment between February 2 and March 13 in Hartlepool. She was also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £150, prosecution costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £15.

Anthony Fellows, 33, of Harrow Street, Hartlepool, was given a six-month conditional discharge for being in possession of amphetamine, a Class B drug, in Avenue Road, Hartlepool, on September 6. He was also ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £180 and a victim surcharge of £15.

Stevie Howe, 40, of Borrowdale Street, Hartlepool, was given an eight-week jail sentence - suspended for 12 months - for being in possession of a bladed article in a public place on August 21.
