BRAZEN thieves broke into an industrial estate compound and drove away in two trucks worth £25,000.
Police are now hunting the crooks who took away the two tankers, which weigh 32 tonnes and 17 tonnes, from Graythorp Industrial Estate, off Tees Road, Hartlepool.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Officers believe four men may be involved in the theft of the tankers, that have a combined worth of around £25,000.
“Police are asking members of the public to be vigilant and contact them if they see either of the stolen vehicles.”
They were taken between 10.20pm on Tuesday and 12.20am the following morning.
One is a 32-tonne Volvo with a white cab and a blue tanker with yellow writing reading GEE DEE on both of its sides. The vehicle’s registration plate was T993 KHN.
The other taken is a 17-tonne Mercedes with a yellow cab and a yellow tanker with blue writing also saying GEE DEE on both sides of the tanker. Its plate was M914 RKM.
