The crooks broke into Quattro Mori, in Church Street, Hartlepool, by breaking a window.

Once inside the raiders stole a safe containing cash and a number of bottles of alcohol.

The incident happened some time overnight on Monday into Tuesday.

Staff at the restaurant reported the incident to police when they discovered the crime on Tuesday.
