Three arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after Hartlepool street stabbing

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in the street.

Police were called to a report of a stabbing in Sheriff Street in Hartlepool at around 2.15pm on Tuesday.

The 44-year-old male victim is currently being treated at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The Great North Air Ambulance was called to the scene and landed nearby, but was not needed to transfer the casualty to hospital.

Three males aged 22, 23 and 47 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are in custody.
