TV stolen in Hartlepool house burglary

POLICE are investigating a burglary at a house in Hartlepool.

Raiders broke into the property in Rydal Street, off Elwick Road, in Hartlepool, by smashing the glass section of a rear door.

Once inside the criminals set their sights on a television and made off with it.

The residents reported the incident to Cleveland Police around 11am yesterday, after they had discovered the damage.

Officers have launched an investigation into the crime and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “We received reports of a break-in at a house in Rydal Street, Hartlepool.

“Whoever is responsible smashed glass in a back door and let themselves in.

“They then stole a television.

“The incident happened sometime overnight from Thursday into Friday.”

Witnesses should ring 101.
