POLICE are urging home owners to be on their guard following a string of thefts from gardens.
Officers from Hartlepool Police say there have been reports of an increase in the number of thefts of garden ornaments, plants and garden equipment from properties across Hartlepool.
Over the past few days police have received reports that two large urns have been stolen from a garden in Byland Grove, in Seaton Carew, Hartlepool.
There were also plants and hanging baskets thieved from the town’s Marina Way, and also a decorative wheelbarrow and planters taken from outside of a house in Ardrossan Road, in the Rossmere area.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police urged people to secure any garden items as best they can. Anyone who has any information about the thefts, or who has been offered items for sale, should contact police on 101.
