POLICE are urging motorists to take valuables out of their cars after four thefts in one night.
Four cars were targeted by thieves in Hartlepool during the night of Bank Holiday Monday and into yesterday morning.
Two break-ins took place in the Foggy Furze area of town, one in the Throston area and another in the Rossmere area.
Computer games that were on show in one of the vehicles, cash, a satellite navigation system and sunglasses that were left on a dashboard were all stolen.
PC Steve Davies, crime prevention officer for Hartlepool, said: “It is essential that we do everything we can to deter criminals from committing thefts such as these and simply by removing items from view we reduce the risk of becoming a victim.”
Anyone with information that could help police catch those responsible can ring Hartlepool Police on (01642) 326326 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
