A WOMAN was taken to hospital with spinal injuries after a crash on the A19.
The woman was travelling on the A19 northbound, between Wingate and Shotton, when the car she was in overturned and landed on its side.
All three emergency services dashed to the incident, which happened just after midnight on Saturday.
The casualty had to be cut free from the car by firefighters and was taken to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, for treatment to spinal injuries.
Two fire engines from Peterlee and one from Seaham were called plus a special rescue unit from Bishop Auckland.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
