A WOMAN was indecently assaulted - moments after snubbing two men who asked her for sex.

Police are investigating after the ordeal in Hartlepool at 4.30am on Monday, June 23. The woman was asked for sex but refused and ran off in Raby Road.

Police say the men followed. One forced her into a telephone box and indecently assaulted her. The victim broke free and ran into Wharton Street, where she got safely inside a house after banging on doors.

One male has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a sexual assault, and bailed pending police investigations. The second, who police say committed the assault, is white skinned with dark features, short cropped dark hair, clean shaven, slim build and a small round face.

He was wearing blue jeans, light coloured trainers and sweater. His tongue was pierced with a piercing described as a silver ball attached to a bar.
