Yobs try to snatch handbag off teenage girl in Hartlepool

THUGS tried to snatch a bag from a teenage girl in broad daylight.

The 17-year-old girl was walking along Elwick Road near to Grassmere Street, in the town, when she was approached by the two men who had crossed the street at around 12.30pm on Wednesday, May 14.

One of the suspects stood in front of the victim and another at her side before they attempted to grab her bag, which was over her shoulder.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the attempted robbery.

The first suspect is described as white, aged between 20 and 30, around 6ft 1in-tall and of broad build.

He was wearing a grey tracksuit with a yellow design on the top.

The second is described as being of slim build and around 5ft 10in-tall.
