TWO motorists were cut out of their cars after a tea-time collision.
Crews from Peterlee Fire Station were called to the junction of Passfield Way and Oakerside Drive, in the town, after a two car collision involving a Peugeot and 4x4.
Firefighters had to cut a woman out of the Peugeot 107 and a man from the other vehicle at 6pm last night.
Both motorists were put on spinal boards as a precaution and taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, with pelvic and back injuries.
A crew from Seaham Fire Station was also called to the incident, which closed a section of the road for about an hour.
