Cyclist injured in crash

A CYCLIST was taken to a medical centre by ambulance after being hit by a car.

The 41-year-old man was riding his bike along Elwick Road, near to the junction with Park Avenue, in Hartlepool, when he was hit by a blue Vauxhall Corsa.

Police and ambulance services were called to the incident at around 2.15pm yesterday, and paramedics took the cyclist to the One Life Hartlepool, in 
Park Road, suffering from bruising.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said the road around the crash was closed around 2.40pm, and officers re-opened it a short time later.
