Cyclist victim of brutal gang attack

A CYCLIST has been left with a suspected fractured skull after a brutal gang attack.

A 36-year-old man was riding a bike with his dog trotting alongside when he was set on by two men in Park Square, Hartlepool.

A further five or six men are then said to have appeared and carried on the assault, knocking him unconscious and leaving him with head injuries.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “The victim suffered injuries including a fractured cheek bone, broken nose and a possible fractured skull.

“He required hospital treatment.”

Police believe some of the group then got into a vehicle – possibly a 4x4 – in Jesmond Gardens and drove away.

The incident is said to have happened between 10.30pm and 11pm on Friday, October 7,

The two suspects that initially approached him are described as in their late 20s or early 30s, of medium build and were both wearing Lacoste tops with dark bottoms.
