WORK looks set to start next month on the demolition of former council offices.
The former District of Easington Council offices, in Seaside Lane, Easington Colliery, will be knocked down in January after Durham County Council planning chiefs approved plans.
Tenders for demolition will be obtained from contractors on the local authority’s approved list and the council says ideally work will start in January.
Once a contractor has been chosen, a start date will be agreed.
The former district council was one of seven abolished when Durham County Council became a unitary authority in 2009.
