A DANCE crew’s television bid for glory begins next week.
Millions of television viewers will watch while Hartlepool hiphop crew Lil Diamondz compete in the CBBC show Alesha’s Street Dance Stars.
The Hartlepool team are one of 24 dance crews out of 200 across the country to make it onto the children’s TV programme.
The short-listed groups will now be whittled down during the two-week-long series presented by Alesha Dixon.
Each group will be facing the programme’s expert judging panel with the competition winner revealed in two weeks time.
The show will be screened on CBBC at 9am and 5pm each weekday for the next two weeks, starting on Monday.
Lil Diamondz, made up of eight town youngsters aged between 10 and 13, consist of Ali Rasul, Khan Rasul, Matt Ryder, Charlie Eve, Joel Copeman, Georgia Rowley, Rachel Hanlon and Paris Kennedy.
The Hartlepool Mail will be following the progress of the junior dance crew whose bid for TV glory comes just days after they returned home from the USA where they made their very first appearance at the World Hiphop Championships.
