HERE is another chance to see pictures from this year’s Boxing Day dips.
Hundreds braved the icy waters at Seaton Carew and Crimdon as thousands of pounds was pledged to a number of local charities.
All sorts of quirky and creative costumes were on show as mild temperatures ensured a fantastic turn out at both dips.
After 40 years of hard work, the Hartlepool Lions organised its final Seaton Carew dip.
Hartlepool Round Table will be taking the reins from next year.
Mike Dowson, president of the Lions, said: “We want to give special praise to the Hartlepool Round Table, they have been a huge help this year, without them the event wouldn’t have gone ahead.”
Graeme Smith, chairman of Hartlepool Round Table, who braved the dip for the very first time, added: “Three of the members went into the sea but we had about 10 people here to shadow organisers ahead of next year.
“It’s a fantastic event, you can see from the amount of people here and the effort they put in how much they enjoy it.”
Round Table members raised around £400 for Hartlepool and District Hospice.
