A COMPANY director has been fined after admitting speeding.
Rochelle Hunter, 31, was spotted driving a Mercedes at 36mph in Elwick Road, Hartlepool, which has a 30mph speed limit, at around 9am on November 11 last year.
A notice of intended prosecution was sent initially to a Hartlepool company called Town and Country 4x4, where bosses said Hunter was the driver.
Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court heard Hunter, of Lower Piercy Farm, Dalton Piercy, was offered a national speed awareness course as an alternative to prosecution.
But despite two courses being arranged, Hunter, a company director with Hartlepool-based Morfitt Waste Management, failed to attend, despite paying for one of them, magistrates heard.
The court was told that Hunter then failed to answer any calls from the course provider.
Hunter, who previously had a clean driving licence, was given three penalty points, fined £60 and ordered to pay £50 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
