SHOWBIZ stars are continuing to back a fundraising drive set up to help brave cancer victim Becky Bell.

Becky, seven, was diagnosed with brain cancer last month after medics discovered a tumour.

She is undergoing gruelling chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but during a break in her treatment her doctors have given her the green light to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Disneyland Paris.

Hartlepool businessman John Rogers, who runs JJ’s Taxis, has arranged a fundraising event at The Staincliffe, in Seaton Carew, on Friday and after spreading the work via social networking sites, a host of auction prizes have poured in.

Gordon Ramsey and Amanda Holden have both pledged prizes, while the likes of Duncan Bannatyne, Joe Calzaghe, Paul Daniels and Tamsin Outhwaite have also offered support.

Now model Kelly Brook has got in on the act with a signed photograph, along with boxer Alex Arthur.

Staincliffe boss Brian Morton had donated two signed prints of champion jockey Tony McCoy, while former Middlesbrough ace Craig Hignett has arranged a signed Boro shirt for the auction.

John, who lives with wife Joanne and four-year-old daughter Lilli-Jo, said; “As we said in the Mail last week, the response has been brilliant and the phone and laptop is red-hot with people offering support.

“We have been amazed by the response, and it would be lovely to see the place packed out for a cause which has really captured the hearts of so many people.”

Becky’s mum Julie said: “We are so grateful for the support we have received.”

Tickets for the event at The Staincliffe, on Friday, September 30, are £4 and are available from John on 07775905778.
