A BUDDING model was delighted after scooping two prizes in a prestigious awards ceremony.
East Durham College student Megan Crombie won the 2012 Face of the North East crown and topped it off by being voted best personality at the event as well.
Having landed the top prize, she is now getting ready to fly to France where she will go head-to-head against other models from around Europe.
Megan, 18, from Blackhall, said: “I was absolutely over the moon. Completely overwhelmed.”
Megan had fought off tough competition from 270 other competitors from all over the North East region to secure the top prize.
She added: “I was shocked just to be placed in the top eight.”
Megan will now travel to Disneyland, Paris, for the grand final to represent the North East in the Face of Europe competition.
She said: “Winning the face of the North East means I have qualified to represent the region in Face of Europe in November, which I am extremely proud to be doing.”
Until then, Megan will be working hard studying for a foundation degree in sports and exercise development.
Showing the same enthusiasm for her studies as her modelling, Megan said: “I can’t wait to get underway with my studies at the College.
“Sport is a huge part of my life and the college seemed like a perfect match for what I wanted to do.”
