THIS time last year Leanne Stones was being treated for triple negative breast cancer.
She had planned to run the Race For Life with her motivated family and friends, but due to her illness she could not find the strength and had to watch.
But she has since beaten cancer and yesterday the inspiring 32-year-old completed the race.
Standing alongside her loving family and friends, Leanne, who lives in Hutton Henry, told the Mail: “What an amazing day.
“I wanted to do this last year, but unfortunately I couldn’t manage it.
“But to be able to run it this year is fantastic.”
Leanne who works as an account manager in Sunderland added: “I can’t explain how it feels to be told you have cancer but you have to be positive, it’s the only way.”
