Driver taken to hospital after two-car crash

A MOTORIST was taken to hospital for checks after a colision with another car in Sunderland.

The accident, involving a Ford Focus D-Max and a Mini Cooper, happened at around 1.30pm on Tuesday at the junction of the A690 Durham Road and North Moor Lane.

All three emergency services attended including a fire engine from North Moor fire station.

The 53-year-old driver of the Ford Focus was taken to hospital by ambulance as a precautionary measure.

No-one else was hurt.
