East Durham election results

ELECTIONS have taken place across County Durham, including in Peterlee, Easington and Horden.

Before today, 11 out of 16 councillors were Labour.

After slight changes to the ward boundaries, 18 of the new 19 seats declared on Friday went to Labour, with the remaining one going to an independent candidate.

The winners for East Durham:

Wingate result: Leo Taylor (LAB) elected.

Passfield result: Joan Maslin (IND) elected

Peterlee East result: Harry Bennett (LAB), Audrey Laing (LAB) elected

Easington result: David Boyes(LAB), Angela Surtees (LAB) elected

Sedgefield result: John Robinson (LAB) and Rachel Lumsdon (LAB) elected

Shotton & South Hetton result: Eunice Huntington (LAB), Robin Todd (LAB) elected

Horden result: June Clark (LAB), Paul Stradling (LAB) elected

Blackhalls result: Robert Crute (LAB) and Lynn Pounder (LAB) elected

Trimdon and Thornley result: Peter Brookes (LAB), Lucy Hovvels (LAB) and Morris Nicholls (LAB) elected

Peterlee West result: James Alvey (LAB), Janice Measor (LAB) elected
