IT may be cold outside but there was a warm welcome and Easter cheer at a church fair.

Seaton Carew Methodist Church got in the spring time spirit at its annual Easter fair fundraiser.

Visitors browsed a host of stalls in the church hall selling tasty home made cakes and bric-a-brac raising more than £300 towards church funds.

It is the latest in a string of community events the church has held to boost funds to pay for improvements and general maintenance.

Previous events have included tea dances which have proved popular and more recently a Comic Relief quiz and supper.

Church member Pat Minto, who helped organise the fair, said: “The weather put a few people off but we managed to raise £316 with donations.

“We would like to say thanks to everyone who came.”
