A HEALTH professional has found herself in the running for a popular awards for the third year in succession.
Edie Coates, the nursing assistant practitioner at the Bankhouse surgery, in Hartlepool, has once again been praised for her excellent work in caring for her patients.
It prompted one person to nominate her for an award, saying: “Edie is so caring and patient.”
The nomination came from Kathryn Reid who commended Edie for “taking the time to explain everything” and easing any anxieties.
The nomination added: “Nothing is too much trouble for her. She is a wonderful person.”
Stunned Edie, 48, said: “I am absolutely elated. I never thought I would be nominated again but I am over the moon that someone put me forward.
“To be honest, I am quite shocked.”
Edie has worked for the surgery for 11 years, and said: “I am very proud of the job I do and I love doing it.
“I have some lovely patients and they are the reason I enjoy doing this. All I do is look after the wellbeing of the patients as best I can..
Edie joins an impressive list of entries in this year’s Best of Health contest.
From doctors to midwives and GPs to carers, we have had worthy causes across the board but we want more.
We’re sure there are more doctors, nurses and carers out there who deserve to be in the running.
We also want to hear about the excellent work which is being done by dentists, teams, pharmacists, optometrists, and midwives.
Anyone who has given long service to the health profession, or who is just starting out in the industry, can also be nominated.
It is so easy to give praise to people who really deserve it.
To nominate, either fill in the form on this page, or visit the Hartlepool Mail website and follow the link on the home page.
