EAST Durham College’s Technical Academy has hosted its annual trade day event.

More than 30 companies from the construction, building and engineering industries attended the event to demonstrate their latest products and technology.

Companies such as Baxi, Eagle Welding, Grundfos, Lincoln Electric and Screwfix were at the event in Palmer Road, Peterlee. Representatives from The Army Reserves, Royal Navy, Durham Police Community Support Officers, One Awards and 4Real, a drug and alcohol service for County Durham, were also in attendance.

Rob Hutchison, Centre Manager and Stakeholder Engagement at the Academy, said: “These types of events are invaluable. They really help to enhance the learners’ training and raise their aspirations.

“The aim of this event was to bring industry and our students together and in doing so give our valued stakeholders the platform to showcase the very latest technology, products and practices that are being used in the industry.”
