COLLEGE chiefs are set to go head–to–head in a kitchen cookery battle.

Members of the management team and governors at East Durham College, in Peterlee, are preparing to fight it out in an event similar to that of hit TV show Hell’s Kitchen on June 13 to raise money for charity.

The event will see senior figures from the Peterlee-based college including principal Suzanne Duncan and vice principals Eugene McCrossan and Sally Hudson spend a whole day in the kitchen perfecting menus set for them by head chef Joe Keenan.

The competitors will have to prepare a number of dishes to serve up to paying customers on the night under the watchful eye of Joe – the college’s very own Gordon Ramsey.

Diners will also be able to see the pressures of the kitchen as the service will be streamed on to screens in the restaurant.

All money raised will be given to Mark Swan so he can travel to America to compete in the World Dwarf Games in August being held in Michigan, USA.
